As I confirmed in my recent post, Stop / Go, I am going to do at least one more year of my jobs newsletter – albeit on a slightly more limited schedule. I’m going to aim for 20-25 editions in 2027 rather than the 40-50 from recent years.
Sending fewer emails does not lead to paying less for the privilege though. The current platform cost for the coming year is US$756 (which currently is about £565) not to mention the annual £150 I spend on the .jobs domain (but that is my own fault! Nobody was crying out for that.).
I’m looking for a single sponsor for 2027 to cover the costs of Ghost.
The newsletter currently goes to 2532 subscribers and in 2026 it has averaged a 63% open rate and a 15% click rate. If you are reading this I suspect you can guess the demographics but if you are curious I did a survey last year and wrote up some findings.
I think this compares favourably against sponsoring something like UK Govcamp where the ‘Silver’ option is about the same price.
Ghost suggests a few different sponsorship formats and I’d be up for trying any of them really within reason.
Over the last couple of years a lot of generous individuals have dipped into their pockets at various times via ‘tips’ and the like but I’d really prefer to shift to something a bit more sustainable with an aligned organisation.
If this sounds interesting you can drop me a line and I’d love to hear from you.
…but if you have suggestions about how I could do it cheaper, or differently, or use Blockchain or something…I appreciate the thought but…
